Formula Renault 2.0 at Zandvoort (~29 mins) [Added 2022-05-31]: I finished second in this race in which nothing much happens after the third lap. Matthew took the pole and led the entire race. I started second but Kris got off the line much better than me and tucked in right behind Matthew, with me in third about a second behind them. In the middle of lap 3, Kris spun getting on the throttle coming out of turn 10 (probably the easiest place on the track to spin), leaving me chasing Matthew for the rest of the race., keeping pace with him but about 1.0 - 1.3 seconds behind most of the time.
Formula Renault 2.0 at Zolder (~29 mins) [Added 2022-05-24]: I started on pole and won this race after a rough middle section. I drove poorly from the second half of lap 4 through lap 5, and fell back to 2nd place at the start of lap 6. The leader was faster than me, and I probably would not have been able to pass him, but I did gain a bit as the race progressed, and then he spun exiting the turn 5 chicane on lap 12. I went into the lead and finished first.
Formula Renault 2.0 at Barcelona (~28 mins) [Added 2022-05-24]: I started and finished 3rd in this race in a field of only 6 drivers. Nothing happens after the first five and a half minutes. I went off track at the end of lap 2 and fell back to 4th, then the car ahead of me spun at the end of lap 3 and I moved back up to 3rd, where I finished.
Formula Renault 2.0 at Mosport (Canadian Tire Motorsports Park) (~29 mins) [Added 2022-05-10]: I started second and finished second in this race in which nothing happens after the first lap.
Formula Renault 2.0 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (Montreal) (~28 mins) [Added 2022-05-08]: I won this race after a bit of a rough start (I hit the wall near the end of lap 2), taking the lead on lap 7, and staying about a second ahead of the second place car for the rest of the race.
Formula Renault 2.0 at Phillip Island (Australia) (~27 mins) [Added 2022-05-08]: I finished second, trailing the first place driver by about a second for most of the race, but never managing to gain on him.
Formula Renault 2.0 at Imola (~29 mins) [Added 2022-05-08]: I did not do as well as I would have liked at Imola this season, I just never got as fast as I wanted to. I ran mid-pack here without incident.
Formula Renault 2.0 at Sebring (~29 mins) [Added 2022-05-08]: My brother Tim won his second race in a row in this one, and I finished second, for our first 1-2 finish ever.
Formula Renault 2.0 at Snetterton (~29 mins) [Added 2022-05-08]: I started 5th and ended up 4th in this race which was really good for thirteen and a half (out of 16) laps. On lap 14 I went off track and gave up some spots, and at the end of the final lap 16, a car spun in front of me and I crashed into him, but ended up making it to the finish line. My brother Tim won this race!
Formula Renault 2.0 at Spa (~29 mins) [Added 2022-03-30]: I took the pole position for this race, and ran in 3rd place for a lot of the first few laps, until eventually everyone ahead of me had some problem or incident, and I found myself in the lead as lap 4 started. The driver right behind me was pretty evenly matched with me -- usually I could gain on him through the sequence of turns 12-15 leading onto the back "straight", but then he would get a better run through the chicane and a nicer exit out of it. Eventually I made a few mistakes (especially going too fast into Les Combes on lap 9, so that I had to slow down too much to go through the second turn in the sequence), and he drafted by me on the back straight to take the lead. I finished second.
Formula Renault 2.0 at Laguna Seca (~28 mins) [Added 2022-03-30]: I was doing pretty well at the start of this race but went too hot into the corkscrew on lap 4 and had a bit of a crash. The car was undamaged as near as I could tell, so I continued on and finished 3rd, which is probably where I'd have ended up even without the crash.
Formula Renault 2.0 at Road America (~28 mins) [Added 2022-03-30]: I started 3rd on the grid and fell back to 4th on the opening lap, then got by the 2 and 3 cars over the next few laps with a bit of a dive bomb on the inside of turn 5, though I braked plenty early and was completely under control and all the way on the inside curb through the turn, leaving them plenty of room. By lap 5 I was in 2nd place, and that's where I finished, with the 2 and 3 cars holding position behind me and not falling back much, and the leader slowly gaining throughout the race so that I finished 5 seconds behind him. (Note that the 2 car changed his paint scheme between my recordings of the driver view and the TV view in this video -- he changed from a dark blue in the TV view recorded to a white and green Benetton scheme in the driver view recorded a few hours later.)
Formula Renault 3.5 at Imola (~20 mins) [Added 2022-03-30]: I did OK for about half of this race, until at 17:00 in the video when I spin getting on the power too aggressively exiting the chicane near the end of lap 11 (of 24). After that, the video skips ahead to the last lap to finish the race. I finished as the last of the cars on the lead lap.
Formula Renault 3.5 at Suzuka (~24 mins) [Added 2022-03-30]: This was my first ever Formula Renault 3.5 race. Since I'd never done a standing start in this car, and its more powerful engine will more easily spin the wheels, after qualifying 6th in a field of 19 cars, I decided to start from the pits to make sure not to create a mess on the grid at the start. I came out of the pits in 16th place, and ended up making it up to 6th place by about halfway through the race, and that's where I finished.
ARCA at Kentucky (~22 mins) [Added 2022-05-14]: I saved my tires pretty well in this race by braking sooner entering turn 1 as the race wore on, and as a result was very competitive at the end. This was a fun race. I finished 3rd.
ARCA at New Hampshire (~23 mins) [Added 2022-03-31]: This was a fun but unremarkable race. The most interesting bit is at 07:30 on lap 12 where a traffic jam has formed behind me and the car I'm racing with side by side. At the time, I was considering whether I should give up the fight and get in line and get out of everyone's way. But 30 seconds later, I've won the battle and drawn ahead of the group.
ARCA at USA International Speedway (Lakeland, Florida) (~20 mins) [Added 2022-03-30]: In this race (which begins at 01:40 in the video, after two pace laps), I battled the 21 car for most of the 40 laps, but never got by. At 10:45 on lap 25, the 21 car gets by the 18, who has been running ahead of us for a long time, by passing on the outside in turn 2, and then the 21 car pulls away a bit as I have to work past the 18. I finally get by the 18 by taking the inside entering turn 1 at the start of lap 28, and then catch the 21 again a few laps later and resume trying (ultimately unsuccessfully) to pass. I finished 6th.
LMP2 at Mid-Ohio [Highlights] (~7 mins) [Added 2022-05-14]: This was the first LMP2 race I've ever completed, and it went fine, I finished behind the really fast people and ahead of most of the pack.
